It's no surprise that abortion workers often see YOU as their enemy. After all, you're praying for their employers to go out of business.
But your peaceful, loving approach can soften the hearts of Planned Parenthood employees.
Bonnie in Columbia, Missouri, tried to refer a Planned Parenthood client to pro-life resources, but he rushed into the abortion facility.
The man was seeking STI care...but five minutes after entering Planned Parenthood, he came back out to talk with Bonnie.
"[Planned Parenthood] referred me back to you and said you could help me," he said.
Bonnie was more than prepared to help him and sent him to a pro-life clinic where he could get help even though he didn't have insurance.
"Bonnie [told] him that if he had any other problems, she would personally assist with any cost," reported Kathy, the Columbia vigil leader. "This is amazing; Planned Parenthood is sending people to us for assistance. Let us pray it continues!"
And let us pray that the abortion worker who sent the man to Bonnie is experiencing an awakening of conscience that will lead him or her to similarly seek out 40 Days for Life volunteers for help--with leaving the abortion industry!
Boulder, Colorado
Two years ago, Boulder, Colorado, 40 Days for Life leader Susan attended a public book signing organized by notorious third-trimester abortionist Warren Hern.
She sat in the back and listened quietly without asking questions or interacting. But it took only a minute before abortion supporters in the room figured out exactly who she was.
Hern recently held an event to promote another new book. And again, Susan went to listen.
"I went early so I could sit in the back," Susan said. "I had to show my ID. My name was on a list of people who were not allowed in."
Ironically, the decision to kick Susan out resulted in far more negative publicity for the abortionist than if she had been allowed to stay and anonymously listen, as she spent the time publicly and peacefully witnessing in front of the venue.
Bangor, Maine
Ruth and the Bangor 40 Days for Life team held a campaign rally featuring their new bishop, the Most Rev. James Ruggieri.
More than 70 campaign participants turned out for a dinner prepared by the Knights of Columbus and for an inspiring talk from Bishop Ruggieri, reminding prayer warriors that God is the author of conversion.
"God changes hearts, but He also uses people to move hearts," the bishop exhorted attendees. "We have to sacrifice and work intentionally in the pro-life movement and recognize that God is in charge.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.
--Matthew 28:19-20
God, you have given me more than I could possibly ask. Help me never stray from your presence, for it is you whom I long to share with everyone I encounter. Show your face through my humility, direct my steps, and let every word I speak be from you. You ascended to Heaven not to abandon us but to be with us. You sent the Holy Spirit to guide our actions. As we conclude this 40-day fast, pour forth your grace on us to carry your light to the ends of the world. Amen.
