A 40 Days for Life leader on the Atlantic coast was praying at her vigil when she got a most unexpected phone call.
It was an abortion worker on the line.
"She had a mom she wanted us to help," said the leader, who also runs a nearby pregnancy help ministry. "We have mobile medical [units] where we do free ultrasounds and support the families with the baby items they need."
The 40 Days for Life leader is used to helping moms in crisis--but getting a referral from an abortion worker was an unexpected blessing.
"I was definitely surprised to get the call," the leader said. "Only God can shine light into the heart of an abortion worker and have her reach out to pro-life supporters to help one of their clients."
The 40 Days for Life leader was able to see the expectant mother right away. She chose life and is considering placing her child for adoption.
"This was one of the most amazing situations I have ever been a part of," the leader said. "A true modern-day miracle!"
We aren't identifying the vigil location so that pro-life pregnancy help referrals from inside the abortion center don't dry up.
"We hope she saves more babies [from] inside this clinic!" the leader said.
Maybe she'll be the next abortion worker to leave her job during a 40 Days for Life campaign.
Birmingham, England
Former international abortion executive Kevin Duffy headlined Birmingham's kickoff rally.
Kevin edified attendees by sharing that, during his days working in the abortion industry, he considered 40 Days for Life to be a nuisance.
"He said that he didn't understand why the [number] of abortions went down twice a year until one of the managers explained that this happened when 40 Days for Life campaigns were held," recalled Isabel, the local leader. "This helped motivate more people to sign up for shifts!"
Seoul, South Korea
After holding South Korea's first 40 Days for Life campaign last fall, the Seoul team is back praying for an end to abortion.
With the weather chilly and the country experiencing its Omicron wave, recruiting has become more challenging. But the campaign team isn't backing down.
"People who are cold but passionate are coming out," said Yoonhwa, the local leader.
