The man who has been my friend and colleague for many years, David Bereit, is stepping aside from his role as CEO of 40 Days for Life.
David and his family have made many sacrifices for 40 Days for Life, especially when we were in the early days of seeing God spread this campaign. He has been praying and discerning this decision for a while ... and we'll be excited to see how God will use him in his next project.

Serving 40 Days for Life has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. With God's help, I invested my best efforts into this ministry over the last decade. Now, I'm excited to see the new heights it will achieve under Shawn's leadership.
40 Days for Life has a wonderful board, committed staff, and dedicated local leaders around the globe who will ensure the continued growth and ongoing success of its mission.
For the last year and a half, I've been feeling God stirring my heart to take on new challenges and launch a brand new project. My wife, Margaret, and I are excited to now spend a brief season praying, planning, and making preparations to launch this new endeavor, which will be announced soon at DavidBereit.com.
Though my season on staff has come to a joy-filled end, I love 40 Days for Life and will continue to pray for, and participate in, 40 Days for Life campaigns and the pro-life movement.
