The first baby has been saved during the largest 40 Days for Life campaign ever...
...and it happened before the mother made it to the abortion appointment!
A young man in Mexico City posted on social media, desperately seeking out a 40 Days for Life volunteer who could help. His friend was about to lose a child to abortion...and was helpless to do anything about it.
Fortunately, Hugo saw the post and contacted the expectant father directly to pray with him, to offer free resources, and to advise the dad how to support his child's mother through her pregnancy.
The help, the prayers, and an ultrasound moved the mom to choose life!
This father in Mexico City was able to save his child's life...
...but because fathers have no rights when it comes to their unborn children, many find themselves powerless to protect their own flesh and blood.

40 Days for Life 365 campaigns that hold year-round vigils have saved numerous babies already this month!
Honolulu, Hawaii
A young couple went to Planned Parenthood in Hawaii for an abortion, waving off Anne's offer to help them choose life.
The father of the child slated for abortion left the abortion facility twice...and returned twice as Anne encouraged him, "It's not too late. You can go and bring her out!"
And he did!
"He emerged a third time, carrying her," Anne said. "She was crying and smiling, and he was smiling ear to ear!!"
Sidewalk Outreach doesn't just empower women to choose life; it also can empower men to step up to the plate.

Catonsville, Maryland
The Catonsville team celebrated their third baby saved from abortion since they launched their 40 Days for Life 365 vigil in July.
"A car pulled over, and the woman wanted to tell us that she is keeping her baby," announced Kim, the local leader. "She said she saw us, knew we were out there to do good, and knew we could help her."
Kim's team took the mother across the street to the local pregnancy help center, which was well equipped. The Catonsville team hosts recurring baby clothing and diaper drives right at the vigil site to support the pregnancy center.
In those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.

Father, in the Church’s desire to engage our communities with the Gospel, let us gain wisdom from those who have gone before us and cherish their experiences and perspectives. Help us to appreciate every soul in the body of Christ and minister properly to everybody.
