As we reach the midpoint of this fall's 40 Days for Life campaign, we know of exactly 100 babies that have been spared from abortion thanks to YOUR prayers!
Last year, Michigan voters amended the state constitution to include a right to abortion.
It was a devastating blow to abortion-vulnerable moms and babies...but 40 Days for Life participants aren't whining. They're winning.
The campaign in Kalamazoo confirmed its first saved baby in three years!
Mary normally sidewalk counsels on Thursday mornings but decided to go out on a Tuesday morning "because of the 40 Days for Life campaign," wrote Joe, the local leader.
While she was on the sidewalk, Mary told a couple worried about the cost of raising a child about the free resources available to help them get through their pregnancy...and beyond!
"After talking for some time, they told Mary that they were not going to have the abortion, and then they headed over to the Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center across the street," Joe said. "Praise God!"
Joe said that 73 people have signed up to pray at his vigil this fall--and reminded those on his team who haven't that it's not too late to do so:
Fusagasugá, Colombia
Seemingly by chance, a woman told a 40 Days for Life volunteer that her daughter was thinking of having a third-trimester abortion.
The 40 Days for Life participant was able to schedule a phone call with the abortion-minded mom.
That phone call made all the difference in the world. The woman--no longer feeling alone--plans to welcome her son into the world...in just a few weeks!
Kitwe, Zambia
An expectant mother in Kitwe approached the 40 Days for Life team for counseling.
"She has decided not to undergo an abortion," reported 40 Days for Life director of international campaigns Robert Colquhoun.
It wasn't just the offer of help that moved the young woman to choose life. Prayer and fasting played an integral role.
"The team is fasting and asking God to be with them as they pray and fast for an end to abortion," Robert added.
But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you may not appear to others to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you.

Heavenly Father, we ask for humility in our prayer and fasting. Help us to place you at the center of our lives so that others will come to know you through our words and deeds. As we continue through these 40 days, help us to listen to your voice, act in accord with your will, and trust in the power of prayer even when we don’t always see the fruits on earth. Amen.
