Gift Stock
There are many ways for charitable donors to reduce their tax burdens. Many people have appreciated assets such as stock, mutual funds, etc., which can be ideal charitable gifts for many reasons. You may want to consider a charitable donation of your appreciated assets, which will avoid capital gains tax and also qualify you for a tax deduction equal to the value of the assets as of the date of the gift.

Retirement Account Gifts
Some retirees don't realize the huge tax savings if they donate all, or a portion of, their required minimum distribution (RMD) directly to charity. It's called a qualified charitable distribution or QCD. You can also make charitable distributions directly from an IRA or other retirement account before RMDs begin.
