The first saved baby report of the campaign is in...and it's a child whose life was spared during the last 40 Days for Life campaign!
Let me explain.
As 40 Days for Life participants in Guayaquil, Ecuador, launched this fall's campaign, they talked with a priest who shared that he met an abortion-bound mom who chose life in response to this year's spring campaign.
"She saw the 40 Days for Life sign and people gathered in prayer," reported director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "She felt a pang in her heart, started crying, and immediately gave up on having an abortion."
The Guayaquil team reported that today the woman is happily a mother--all because she walked past the 40 Days for Life vigil.
"Just by looking up and seeing a 40 Days for Life sign, a life was saved," Lourdes said. "How many lives are saved by just reading a banner promoting prayer for life?"
Lisbon, Portugal
This baby is one of eight saved from abortion during LAST autumn's 40 Days for Life campaign in the Portuguese capital.
"His name is Erik," wrote the Lisbon 40 Days for Life campaign leadership team.
Erik is about to celebrate five months outside the womb, and he's doing "great"!
"Let us pray for them," requested the local leaders for the family.
Sarasota, Florida
The Sarasota campaign is on a roll. Just before this fall's vigil began, Rich--the 40 Days for Life 2023 leader of the year--confirmed a mom and baby spared the trauma of abortion.
"She left Planned Parenthood, apparently because their computer systems were having technical difficulties and she couldn't be serviced," wrote James from the Sarasota team. "Praise God!"
That makes two dozen babies saved on the year for the 40 Days for Life 365 location!

Bless all fathers with the strength of Joseph so that in every circumstance they may place their trust in you.
