The more people learn about abortion, the more pro-life they become.
The abortion industry hides behind euphemisms like "choice" and "reproductive rights" to hide the grisly reality that abortion is only successful when it kills a baby.
40 Days for Life participants in Tacoma, Washington, are coming to the vigil equipped to lovingly share the truth with anyone who is interested.
"We are called to be prepared, and we are," wrote Tammy, the local leader. "Our sidewalk supplies address most every situation or concern we could be asked about."
Vigil participants carry printed materials on:
- Local pregnancy help resources;
- Fetal development;
- The abortion pill and Abortion Pill Reversal;
- Post-abortion healing;
- and more!
They even include a decorated picture frame to display a baby's first ultrasound picture.
"All this in one little packet that fits in your pocket," Tammy said. "And we will have packets in Spanish soon."
Tulua, Colombia
A woman in Tulua learned that a family member was planning to have an abortion...so she approached vigil participants to ask for help.
"The abortion-minded woman agreed to talk to 40 Days for Life volunteers, but she was very determined to abort," said 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela.
The mother is 41 years old and felt that a child would impact her career.
But after meeting her baby via ultrasound and hearing the child's heartbeat, the expectant mother chose life, breaking into tears when the campaign team provided her with baby clothes for her bundle of joy!
Melbourne, Australia
The 40 Days for Life campaign "down under" is off to a strong start...and the Melbourne community is taking notice.
"Well done, ladies," a passerby told vigil participants.
Later that day, a young man visited the vigil to tell prayer volunteers, "I don’t believe in abortion either."
Finally, a bicyclist noticed the vigil and stopped to pray before riding off again.
"We've had lovely affirmation today," wrote Ev from the local campaign team. "Let's hope that's a good sign for our vigil."
A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink."
--John 4:7
Heavenly Father, we pray in a special way for all women who have experienced an abortion. We ask that you draw these women close to your healing heart. Help us all to recognize our deep thirst for the living water that only you can offer, and give us the courage to invite others to the well of your forgiveness. Amen.
