Planned Parenthood supporters used to justify abortion as a private matter that women choose only after thoughtful deliberation.
Those days are long gone.
Abortion activists now openly celebrate abortion by embracing the vulgar, the grotesque, and even the satanic.
Case in point: 40 Days for Life participants on the East Coast observed an abortion worker's vehicle bearing a bumper sticker that reads, "Murder is my hobby."
Another macabre sticker on the vehicle depicts a bleeding heart with the word "dead" emblazoned over it.
These stickers are outrageous--but they're also highly likely to backfire.
Women aren't getting abortions as their "hobby." And any reminder that abortion causes the death of an innocent human being only increases the likelihood that women will decide not to go through with the abortion.
Give them another sign to bail on their abortion appointments by praying at your local 40 Days for Life vigil:
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
In another bizarre twist, pro-abortion activists seem to have adopted the devil as a mascot for their movement.
They shouted "Hail Satan" at the Texas state Capitol when pro-life legislation was passed into law and also at 40 Days for Life participants standing vigil.
Now, an abortion facility escort in Philadelphia sports a hat that says, "Made by Satan."
"Forgive them, Lord, they know not what they do," wrote Monique, who leads one of the 40 Days for Life campaigns in the City of Brotherly Love. "Please pray for her conversion. She is actually a beautifully made girl. Sadly, she has been duped by Satan."
Lynnwood, Washington
40 Days for Life general counsel Matt Britton's trek through the Evergreen State continued in Lynnwood, where he was accompanied by Jennifer Kendrex from the 40 Days for Life Institute of Law & Justice as well as Fr. Francis de Rosa.
The trio encouraged vigil participants who represented not only the Lynnwood vigil, but also vigils in Everett and Mt. Vernon.
"As is typical on Tuesdays in Lynnwood, our group was greeted by an abortion-supporting couple displaying their signs and ringing a cowbell near the vigil," wrote Rebecca, the local campaign leader.
But the attempt to discourage 40 Days for Life volunteers failed.
"[The visit from headquarters] was amazing and encouraging," said one attendee. "Thank you for a wonderful morning!" added another.
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how [strong] the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"
--Matthew 14:29-30
Thank you, Lord, for my doubt, which allows me to practice faith. Hear my prayer for expectant mothers. Give them the courage to walk in faith. Help them to see the nobility of their motherhood. Through the storms of life, keep them close to you and comfort them in the safety of your arms. Amen.
