The 40 Days for Life campaign has been making an impact in Tulsa right from the start. Around 350 people kicked off the vigil at the Garden of Hope ? land owned by the local Catholic diocese that's right across the street from the abortion center.

While one church may own the property, the Tulsa campaign leaders say faithful Christians from diverse backgrounds will maintain the 40-day vigil there, praying for an end to abortion.

The opening rally set that multi-denominational tone, with pastors from Redeemer Covenant Church and First Presbyterian Church speaking at the event.

Catholic Bishop David Konderla ? who had seen similar vigils first hand when he was a pastor in 40 Days for Life?s home town of College Station, Texas ? encouraged the crowd to show mercy to all the victims of abortion, including the children, their mothers and fathers ? and those who work in the abortion clinics so that they might find a way out that destructive industry.
