Charlie is the seriously ill 11-month-old British boy at the center of a major controversy in London. His parents want to take him to the United States for treatment, but thus far, the hospital where he's staying -- and the courts -- are refusing to let his parents move him.
The story has implications for all aspects of the pro-life movement, as well as serious concerns regarding parental rights and responsibilities.
That's a topic that Matt Britton, 40 Days for Life's board chair and general counsel, discusses with me and our international campaign director Robert Colquhoun on the latest edition of the 40 Days for Life podcast
Deeply troubling statements have been made in regard to Charlie -- that since he will never be a "normal" boy, it's "in his best interest" that life support be discontinued. An "ethics expert" even says there are situations in which a sick person is better off dead!
We also look at some of the history of the case ... and where precedents set here could have a negative aspect in other applications.
