As we prepare our hearts to celebrate Jesus Christ coming into the world--through a family--to save us, we should reflect on the current state of the family.
It's bad and cannot be sugarcoated.
The family has been assaulted from within and by the culture more than any other institution. The most precious and beautiful result of family--a child--is often seen as a burden. The view that children are a burden and not a gift has led to 56 million abortions worldwide every year.
The sins and pain within the family is an attack on hope. There is nothing more hopeless than parents paying a doctor to kill their own child.
This is not the time in history to cower at the great trials of our time. Instead we must rise up. We must trust God, pray, fast and act. God calls the small, the weak, the ordinary to change the world.
